Pays for Medical Expenses up to RM 300,000

When you have an accident overseas, medical expenses can be very high especially in countries like the US. Travel insurance will pay for your doctor visit and hospital costs, so that you do not have to worry about money and focus on your health.

What are the covers/benefits provided?

(a) Personal Accident
(b) Medical and Other Expenses
(c) Travel Related Benefits
(d) Optional Rider Benefits

What are the major exclusions under this Policy?

This Policy does not cover death or injury caused by the following events:

      1. (a)  Delay, confiscation, detention, requisition, damage, destruction or any prohibitive regulations by customs orother government officials or authorities of any country;
      2. (b)  Hazardous adventure unless such sports have been covered under the Additional Sports (Optional Rider) thatInsured Person has purchased;
      3. (c)  HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) and/or any HIV-related illness including AIDS (Acquired ImmuneDeficiency Syndrome) however caused and/or any mutant derivations, variations or treatment thereof however caused;
      4. (d)  Ionising radiation or contamination by radioactivity from any nuclear waste from combustion of nuclear fuel;
      5. (e)  Pre-Existing Conditions means any injury, illness, condition or symptom;
      6. (f)  Pregnancy, childbirth, abortion or miscarriage;
      7. (g)  Riot or civil commotion, lockout or threat of such incident;
      8. (h)  The radioactive toxic explosive or other hazardous properties of any explosive nuclear assembly or nuclearcomponent thereof;
      9. (i)  War, invasion, act of foreign enemy, hostilities (whether war be declared or not), civil war, rebellion, revolution,insurrection or military or usurped power, martial law or state of siege or any of the events or causes which determine the proclamation or maintenance of martial law or state of siege.

Can I cancel my Policy?

You may terminate your Policy by giving written notice to Allianz. Termination shall become effective on the date the notice is received or on the date specified in such notice whichever is the later. Refund of premium, however, is subject to the terms and conditions stipulated in the policy.

How to Claim

To make a successful Travel Insurance Claim it is recommended to have all the Basic Documents at hand and then also collect the necessary documents for the below cases:

Basic Documents

  1. Fully completed Allianz Travel Care Claim form (incomplete form may cause delay in processing)
  2. Original Insurance Certificate & Proposal Form
  3. Original used air ticket/E-ticket & boarding passes
  4. Flight Booking Itinerary

For Medical Expenses / Personal Accident

  1. Medical Report or Death Certificate
  2. Original Medical Bills/Receipt
  3. Hospital Admission / Discharge Note or Summary
  4. Original Bills / Receipts for additional traveling & accommodation expenses
  5. If needed, original Car Rental Agreement and Original Receipt for additional costs of rental car return

For Travel Delay / Missed Departure / Missed Connection

  1. Written confirmation from the airlines regarding the period of delay (in number of hours), the actual date and time of departure and the reasons for such delay / missed departure / missed connection
  2. If needed, original receipts for additional accommodation and travel expenses

For Luggage / Personal Effects / Personal Money / Travel Documents

  1. Policy report
  2. Property irregularity report from the Airlines
  3. Written confirmation from the Airlines on the delayed delivery of luggage
  4. Currency exchange slip
  5. Original receipts for items claimed

For Cancellation / Curtailment

  1. Tour operator’s itinerary and confirmation of booking
  2. Tour operator’s cancellation invoice and confirmation of refund due
  3. Medical Report / Death Certificate of insured person or immediate family member
  4. Proof of relationship between insured person & family member, e.g. birth certificate, marriage certificate
  5. Original Receipt of all amounts claimed

For Personal Liability

  1. Police report
  2. All correspondence / documents form the Third Party
